Local Lads Junk Removal was founded in Calgary, AB, by two longtime friends, Alshain Shuster and Spencer Chapman, who wanted to bring affordability and dependability back to junk removal. With nearly a decade of hands-on experience, we’ve built a company that values honesty, transparency, and sustainability. No inflated quotes, no gimmicks, just hardworking locals who care about helping their neighbours.
Our mission is straightforward: make junk removal affordable, stress-free, and environmentally responsible. Whenever possible, we donate or recycle items to ensure usable goods stay out of landfills.

At Local Lads Junk Removal, we serve both residential and commercial clients across Calgary and the surrounding area. Whether you’re clearing out a home, renovating an office, or dealing with construction debris, our team has you covered.
We keep the process simple through free on-site estimates and full-service junk removal. From lifting and loading to sorting and disposing, we handle everything so you don’t have to.
We also do our part for the environment by donating and recycling whenever possible, giving unwanted items a chance at a second life.

Our Pricing
Our trucks are 11 feet long, 5 feet wide, and 7 feet high - big enough to haul away the equivalent of 8 standard refrigerators in a single load.
To put it simply:
2 fridges = 1/4 of a load
4 fridges = 1/2 of a load
… and so on.
We use tiered, volume-based pricing so you can get a good idea of what your job might cost before we arrive. Think of it as an estimate tool; your final price is always confirmed on-site once we see the items. You’ll never pay more than what’s fair for the actual space your junk takes up in our truck.
Heavier materials, including concrete, brick, rock, soil, tile, and other determined items, will be charged using our heavy load pricing. Due to the weight of the material, we can fill a maximum of 11’ x 5’ x 1’.

Our pricing is based on how much space your items take up in our truck. We use tiered, volume-based rates — whether it’s just a couple of boxes or a full truckload.
For heavy materials like concrete, soil, or brick, we use special heavy load pricing. These items weigh much more than standard junk and come with higher disposal costs, so this ensures pricing stays accurate and transparent.
No matter the job, you’ll always get a clear, upfront price with no hidden fees, confirmed by our team before any work begins.

We don’t believe in simply throwing everything into the landfill. After each job, your items are carefully sorted into donations, recyclables, and waste.
Donations: Usable furniture, clothing, and household items are brought to local charities and donation centres, such as Habitat for Humanity ReStore, Salvation Army, and other community organizations in Calgary.
Recycling: Metals, electronics, appliances, and other recyclables are dropped off at Calgary’s certified recycling depots.
Waste: Only what can’t be reused or recycled goes to the landfill.
By partnering with local charities and recycling facilities, we make sure your junk is handled responsibly — keeping usable items in the community and unnecessary waste out of Calgary’s landfills.

We keep payment simple and flexible. Local Lads accepts credit cards, debit, cash, and e-transfers — whichever works best for you.
For security and convenience, we do not accept cheques. Payment is collected after the job is complete, and receipts are always provided for your records.

Not necessarily. If you can provide us with a photo of the items and leave them outside or in an accessible location, you don’t need to be home at the time of pickup.
Of course, if you’d like to be there, we’re happy to walk you through the process in person — it’s completely up to you.

Yes. When you book with Local Lads, we’ll give you a service window (typically 2 Hours) for your appointment. On the day of service, our truck team will send a courtesy call or text 15–30 minutes before arrival so you know exactly when we’re on the way.
This ensures you won’t be left waiting and can plan your day with confidence.
